Cheap Grace and Costly Grace
The Terms cheap grace and costly grace are lived out many different ways in our church community today. First of all I am going to start with cheap grace. Many teens and young children in the church community take on the trait cheap grace. This seems to go good with many of them because adolescence seem to think basically that they were given grace and that's all to it, but this is the wrong thinking. They feel that God loves them no matter what and he will forgive them so they figure that they can do what ever they might please. This is true that God forgives everyone, but to be a good Christian you should do the right things so you don't have to ask for forgiveness. Doing the right thing; in this situation is taking on the role of costly grace.
One example of cheap grace is a lot of choices that adolescent group makes. One of the most popular bad choices that this group makes is deciding not to attend Sunday mass regularly. This is even breaking a commandment but the adolescent group really does care to much because they figure 'God will forgive me its ok'...
