Two Wrongs Make a Right
"But if there is a serious injury, you are to take life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, burn for burn, wound for wound, bruise for bruise." Many of us still believe in that Old Testament concept even along with some of the New Testament Christians.
We had just recruited a new part time member to the staff at my workplace, and the very first day I worked with him, we'll call him "Jude", I knew it wasn't going to be easy. Since my girlfriend is in the states, my work hours are sometimes the most convenient times to talk on the phone. So I do. The second day Jude comes into work he tells my supervisor that I talk on the phone more than I should, because he wanted my full time position. When another one of my co-workers said "Hey did you here about the new guy rattin' on ya?" all I hear from Jude is a guilty "Shhhhh." In a failed attempt to cover up his betrayal, worse was all to come.
My supervisor is a laid back type of person so he didn't care much, but that act of betrayal from Jude had fired me up...
