Limited Soil Areas and its Affect On Plant Growth
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this experiment is to determine whether limited soil (crowed enviroment) areas would inhibit the growth and height of plants.
In order for a plant to grow and prosper it needs a number of different chemical
elements. The most important are carbon, hydrogen, and oxygen, which are available from air and water in ample supply. However, plants also need macronutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, all of which are found in the soil and are important in cell development and growth. If these nutrients are missing or soil conditions become competitive for these nutrients, this will limit the growth rate for the plant.
I predict that the number of plants in a limited area will affect the growth of the plants.
METHODS AND MATERIALS
Three equal size containers were labeled for identification number one through three. The containers were filled with equal amounts of potting soil. To establish limited growth area, a select number of been seeds were planted in each container...
