Stuart Diver - Essay
Stuart Diver is the sole survivor of the Thredbo landslide in 1997. The disaster took place at 11:30pm on the 30th of July 1997 and had killed 19 people who were at the time located at Karinya resort at Thredbo ski village. Struart had been a ski instructor before this terrible incident. Stuart had lay trapped under 2 slabs of concrete for 65 hour. The worst part of this incident was knowing that the disaster could have been prevented. Stuart say that he is not a "Hero" (like all call him) as it was just fate which saved him.
On the 30th of July Just as the land was giving way Sally and Stuart had woken to a faint noise. Struart had gone to the front to find out what had happened, as soon as he realized what had happened he returned to his room to rescue sally but all was too late because as soon as Stuart had returned to his room he land had given way and had come crashing on the Resort roof. As for Sally the land slide it self had not killed her but it had damaged the bed she was living on so much that she had been pined to it 30 second after the slide it self water had rushed in and filled the room Stuart had been able to get a few inches higher and lift his head out of the water to survive but Sally was not able to life her self and had been drowned.
