A Struggle in Wally Lamb's She's Come Undone
She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb is a coming-of-age novel based in the late 1950's. We follow Dolores back to her earliest childhood memory, where her family was given a new coloured television set. And so begins the story of Dolores Price, giving the reader an in depth look of her life. Dolores Price would unfold all the hardships and difficulties she encounters from age four to fourty. Stranded by certain decisions and problems she was faced with such as her mother and father's divorce, being raped by her neighbour and relieving her problems by eating, Dolores was forced to shut her self out from a regular childhood life as it would affect her future as well.
Dolores began to forgive her dad for the fight with Ma, after her father and she had just had a fun filled week with just each the two of them. "He was supposed to tell you. That was the purpose of the whole week. Your father wants a divorce. He's leaving us...
