2.) After the Revolutionary War, some Americans wanted a strong central government while others did not. Cite examples of the controversy over government power today.
Some American's wanted a strong national government, while others didn't after the revolutionary war. The supporters of a Strong National government were called Federalists. The anti-federalists didn't want a strong national government. They were afraid that it would create a government similar to the oppressive English government.
I believe that there should be a balance between the powers, the National government controlling issues that would concern the entire country and issues that would effect more than the public, such as trade embargos, foreign policy, and war. The local government should be in charge of public issues such as taxes, social and moral laws (same-sex marriages, and abortion) and civil courts.
