From the passage in John chapter four, Jesus exemplifies how to behave when entering a new culture. Jesus not only demonstrated how to relate to a woman and a people group from a culture that was considered less significant by His peers, but He also used this experience to teach His disciples a lesson on ministry.
Jesus focused on the work the Father had for Him. Even the fact that Jesus traveled through Samaria demonstrated this. Most Judeans would have taken the trouble to avoid Samaria all together by going around it. Jesus thinks as God thinks: His creations all deserve to be loved and given the opportunity to have a relationship with Him. So, Jesus treated the Samaritan woman impartially, like any other of His precious creations. Jesus looked upon the Samaritans fairly. He also treated the Samaritan woman equal to the way He treated men. Jesus saw beyond cultural biases and looked at the heart...
