"Odd Similarities"
The Crucible
People can seem to be completely different but have one small thing in common
that makes them extremely alike. They still have their obvious differences, but there is
something that almost connects them. Take the characters Elizabeth Proctor and Abigail
Williams from The Crucible by Arthur Miller; they are very different people who have
one large thing in common, the man they love.
Elizabeth Proctor is a very kind, loving, and loyal person. She still loves her
husband, John Proctor, even after he cheats on her with Abigail Williams. Abigail is very
manipulative, and also very used to getting her way. The one big thing that these two
girls have in common is their love for John. This, however, is also one of their biggest
differences. Elizabeth Proctor is willing to put her own life in great danger, and end up
dead, in order to save her husband and his reputation. Abigail on the other hand wants
Elizabeth dead so that she can be with John...
