How to discipline young children? It's a touchy subject for many people; people now believe in positive reinforcement and other things such as time-outs and others still think that disciplining means to spank their children. I think that positive reinforcement is one of the best ways to discipline children. Spanking children is not a good choice to take in disciplining children. Discipline is usually passed on through the family so to speak, if you were spanked you will probably spank your kids and so on because you learn by example.
Positive reinforcement is to tell the child or reinforce the right thing to do to the child that has done something wrong. So that next time there in that situation they might know what to do. For instance a method we used at Tech Tots was say a child hit another child, we would tell them to use "soft touches" and show them how to touch the other child softly. Most of the kids who have been there will tell one another that "we use soft touches with our friends.", When they see someone hitting...
