The 1980's
The years from 1980 to 1989 were very important years for the world. Many important events took place but most importantly many new gadgets and gizmos were out on the market for the consumer to snatch up. The 1980's tried to harness to power of the computer and the electronic device and came very close to doing so. From the Rubik's cube to the Nintendo Family Entertainment System, the 1980's were full of delightful technological advances and inventions.
The Rubik's cube is one of the most puzzling toys of all time. It is Sometimes referred to as a "Rubix" cube or "Rubick's" cube, this wearisome little toy had its time to shine on the world stage during the so called fad-ridden 80s. It probably ranks as one of the most cherished icons from the 1980's and few people have actually ever solved it on their own (though many have claimed to). Most solutions to solving the Rubik's cube have come from mathematicians using so-called "group theory".
