According to Beowulf, every person has evil inside oneself, but with varying degrees. Therefore, generous people also have their own evil. From this, I oppose that greed is the root of all evil. I think greed is only one of the many factors that contribute to people's wickedness.
Another cause of evil is jealousy. A person gets jealous because other people possess a better quality or ability. The jealous person will try to harm the other people so that he himself will look better. This happens in the story of Cinderella.
