Pet Therapy: Live 10 Years Longer?
I was a bit skeptical of "Pet Therapy". I think the author might have over exaggerated a little bit. The author spent more time about how pet benefit only the
elderly and "deranged" adolescents. He or she could have also talked about the therapeutic use of pets as companions has gained increasing attention in recent years for a wide variety of patients who have AIDS or cancer, and even the mentally ill.
The author also failed to mention other factors of pet therapy. Research has shown that people who are prone to heart attacks live longer. A tank of tropical fish can
even lower blood pressure temporarily. Or the fact that more and more life insurance companies are asking applicants if they have pets because then the company know the client has to go out and walk the dog, therefore getting more exercise and making themselves life longer because their body is more healthy.
Maybe all the exercise a person gets from their pets is the key to a healthier lifestyle...
