Leadership, as defined by the dictionary, is the condition of being a leader and the ability to lead, control, and guide. Anyone has the potential to lead. One of the good characteristics of a good leader is being responsible. Second, you need to be organized. If you are organized you can plan things and carry out those plans. Third, you should be well informed about what is going on. You will likely succeed because you can schedule your life to make the best of circumstances. You need to be a good role-model. If you are not a good role-model people won't respect you.
Usually I think of a leader as someone who has excellent ability to guide others positively...
