AThe Yellow Wallpaper@ is not a feminist text for it is simply a story of the narrators depression. Feminism is the advocacy for social, economic, and social between men and women.
Gilman was not fighting for any social, economic, or political. Charlotte was going crazy because she was not getting enough rest. She did not need to take care of her child while she was ill.
John, the narrators husband and doctor was trying to help her. A There comes John, and I must put this away - he hates to have me write a word (Gilman 2).@ John did not want her to write because he wanted her to be well rested to overcome her illness. If she was to put herself in his shoes, she probably would have done the same thing.
The story is not a feminist text because Charlotte is not fighting for any social, economic, or political rights...
