Usually, the HRD (Human Resource Development) person is the best person to consult. He/she will be able to evaluate and analyze the information and able to make recommendations about the benefits of the program. If it is about developing a training program internally, this will definitely involve the Training personnel (HRD), as this is very specialized and to ensure effectiveness of the program and to meet intended results.
A good training program should facilitate the achievement of an organization's mission, goals, and objectives. The training program is determined by the specific needs that have been identified. The needs analysis or identification can be derived from a number of ways. Example: Guest feedback, an introduction of a new skill, where no one has knowledge about it, etc. From these needs we will then determine the most suitable training program to address these needs.
Usually, development of a training program will include research, design and testing and could take from one month or more depending on the duration of the program, extent of training information and complexity of the program.
The process of creating a training program includes six phases:
(1) Up-front Review
(2) Needs Assessment
(3) Analysis of Needs Assessment Data
(4) Development of the Food and Beverage Training Program
(5) Construction
(6) Evaluation of the Plan
