This report will be observing passive transport in both non-living and living systems. More specifically the observation of diffusion and osmosis and what factors influence the rate of transport. The purpose of this study is to discover how temperature, molecular size, and concentration affect the rate of transport. Three experiments illustrate the support of my hypothesis. I discovered that smaller molecules diffuse at a faster rate than larger molecules. I demonstrated how water moves from areas of high water concentration to areas of lowered water concentration. And finally, I proved that when temperature decreases, so will the rate of osmosis.
