From a very young age, people are taught about two political parties. Most people adopt the opinions of their parents or other adults and form their own opinions based on the views they have learned as children. Why are many people only exposed to two parties when there are many other quality parties who have just as much to offer. There are two major parties, but there are also four major third parties that society needs to be informed about. A good way to learn about these parties is to put them on a spectrum to get a rough determination of their views and ideals. My spectrum places Ralph Nader on the left, followed by the Green Party, the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the Libertarian Party, and finally the American Party on the far right.
Ralph Nader is the farthest left on my spectrum. This party is a strong advocate of the environment. Nader ran as a Green Party candidate in the 2000 election, and he is strongly in favor of protecting and preserving our environment.
