There are at least four causes to the Great Depression. The first cause of it was uneven distribution of income. There is still uneven distribution and it's the same rank that it was during the Great Depression which was a five. In 1929, 20% of the population was controlling 54% of the income, now in 2004, 10% of our population is controlling 54% of the wealth in the country. The rich keep on getting richer, and the poor keep on getting poorer.
The second cause of the Great Depression was the Depressed Economy. The risk factors then in 1929 were five and today in 2004 the risk factor is only a one. Our Gross National Product in 1929 was a 40% capacity and today it is an 80% capacity. The inflation rate was high in 1929 it was 25 to 30% and today it's very low it's at 4%. The unemployment in 1929 was at the ultimate high, it was a 40% which is was almost half our country who wasn't employed...
