Global warming has been an issue for many years. In 1997, President Clinton summoned a conference on global warming to discuss a worldwide global warming treaty. This is not a debate about who is for or against the environment, but what would be a truly fair and reasonable global solution based on sound science. How can we ratify any treaty that excuses the developing nations from any legally binding mandates or that would cause serious economic harm to the United States? There are a number of effects to the United States that show that this treaty would be an irrational decision.
