One of the seven deadly sins is greed. Unfortunately, it is a quality that exists in many people and plays a part in our society. There is a lack of concern for others when money and success are to be gained. We live in a society where people will do almost anything to have their "15 minutes of fame" and make money. The consequences of greed can be fatal in literature as well as real life.
In the play by William Seebring, The Original Last Wish Baby, greed causes death in the true meaning. Welda Mae Forms gives birth to a baby without a heart. She sees her phenomenal baby as an opportunity to make money and acquire material possessions. The mother signs and a contract and hosts her own reality television show called "The Last Wish Baby Show". Every night she goes on the show and announces to the public that her baby may die tomorrow but wants one thing before its too late...
