Summary of the "Story of an Hour"
The "Story of an Hour" by Kate Chopin is about how Louise Mallard, the main character of the story, changed after the news upon her husband's death. Chopin introduces Louise Mallard as a young wife who is "afflicted with a heart trouble" (the end paragraph 1), which reinforced the point of Mrs. Mallard's physical weakness. When Mrs. Mallard's friend Richard bought in the news, Mrs. Mallard wept at once in her sister, Josephine's arms, which showed her emotional dependant upon her husband.
