Introduction
This paper will discuss the performance of the Canadian Economy from September 2003 to the end of December 2003. The Canadian economy did very well in this period despite the blackout in August 2003 and the rapid rise in the value of the Canadian dollar.
GDP
Real Gross Domestic Product rose by 1.1 % in the third quarter, recovering from a 0.7% decrease in the second quarter. The rise of Gross Domestic Products was supported by the low interest rates but it was weakened by the power outage that occurred in August and the increase of the Canadian dollar. The largest contributor to the growth was the Manufacturing sector by increasing their production by 2.5%...
