In the novel 'Triage' is suggested that Mark will not find forgiveness in himself. This is said by Jaoquin, it sounds like he has experience something like this. Mark is told that no one can help to find forgiveness. Mark does look for forgiveness through out the novel and Jaoquin's life experiences help Mark to do this. What ever anyone says Mark does straggle to find forgiveness himself and in others.
Through out the novel triage Mark is looking for forgiveness in himself and in the people around him. Colin is killed at the start of the novel and Mark believes that dead bodies should be brought home to be berried from where they come. Colin and Mark had a very strong friendship. We know this because Mark almost kills himself trying to bring Colin home when he is killed. The strap that mark has around his neck that he has tied Colin too almost straggles him...
