Historical Truth
People have problems determining what historical truth is because they do not
wish to know about the evils that were committed against other cultures by our ancestors.
Our people in power would like for the past of some things to be untold and paint a rosy
picture. The politicians and other authorities have always found a way to hide the truth
from us. Most people are just interested in the good things that happened in history, they
do not want to be exposed to controversial films or documents. People do not want to
realize that their ancestors could have wrongfully treated another culture in such terrible
ways. People want to believe that there country is respectful to others but sometimes
things are not always as perfect as they might seem to be.
Historical truth is bringing to light the evils that were committed. Historical truth
is quite straightforward. We can say that we know that something happened in the past
even though we were not there and did not see it for ourselves. We know that it happened
because we have seen evidence (this might be films or documents), and from this
evidence we know that certain things happened or took place...
