With life comes death. It is inevitable that everyone will die. Most people live to at least 65 with the medicine and technology that we have acquired through out the ages, but eventually everyone dies. When we are young, death is a mystery that seems so unnecessary to explore. I, however, was forced to come to grips with death at the early age of 10. My Grandfather had developed lung cancer from his years of smoking, perhaps why I will never touch a cigarette. I attended the funeral, I cried and I mourned for weeks, even months, and fond memories of him still go through my mind today from time to time.
After the initial pain passed, life went back to normal. While he was only 64 when he passed away, he was older and had made the decision to smoke and I knew that he was in heaven with God. At 10 I knew he was an angel and the real concept of death was easier to swallow...
