" A culture implicitly encodes images in its popular media with a series of beliefs and assumptions. Often these beliefs and assumptions are so widely held that they may be considered 'common sense' beyond immediate recognition as a cultural of logics" (www.staff.washington.edu/mlf/stereotypes.htm).
Within this unit, I will address the selection of the unit focus and how awareness of languages and literacy as social practices underpins the meaning making process of the text. I will identify the need to cater for individual learners and learning styles by incorporating an inclusive curriculum, which allows for diversity and power from learning. The curriculum will examine the opportunities using a diverse range of text types including media and multimedia which will enable assessment (formative and summative) to umbrella a larger area within the critical literacy boundaries.
"The Representation of Stereotypes", concentrates on applying a critical analysis by identifying particular groups of stereotypes within the Australian culture...
