Subject: Ripped Suit
I am writing you concerning my suit pants that were ripped in Taxi 1145. After a hurried taxi ride from LaGuardia Airport to the Marriott Marquis Hotel on May 15, I barely made it to my 2 p.m. appointment. I didn't realize until I sat down at the conference table that I had ripped the pants of my $450 suit on an exposed spring in the taxi seat. The next day, my tailor informed me that there is no way to repair the rip invisibly, so the suit is, in effect, now useless. I have owned the suit for a year, and I don't expect Empire State Taxi to reimburse me for $450, but I do think that reimbursement of $200 is reasonable.
