Osmosis Report
Osmosis is the passage of water from a region of high water concentration through a semi-permeable membrane to a region of low water concentration. The purpose of this report is to show how osmosis affects an Elodea leaf. This was done by exposing the Elodea Leaf to different concentrations of salt water. When exposed to the various concentrations the Elodea Leaf was observed under 40X and 100X to record data.
There is one way that the water in the cells will move and it is known as passive transport. Passive transport doesn't require an abundance of energy and it happens sporadically. Another name for this process is diffusion. All molecules and ions are in constant motion and it is the energy of motion that drives passive transport.
