Boo Radley and Tom Robinson
In the story To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, there are two themes that the story revolves around. One is the children's relationship with Boo Radley. The other is the trial of Tom Robinson. Eventually these two separate themes would combine and play the plot out. The themes are what make this story what it is and push it along.
The first theme that the story revolves around is Boo Radley. Boo is a person who lives next to the Finches and has many rumors flying around about him. "A negro would not pass the Radley place at night, he would cut across to the sidewalk opposite and whistle as he walked. The Maycomb school grounds adjoined the back of the Radley lot; from the Radley chickenyard tall pecan trees shook their fruit into the schoolyard, but the nuts lay untouched by the children: Radley pecans would kill you. A baseball hit into the Radley yard was a lost baseball no questions...
