Physical journeys broaden their understanding of the world and themselvesPhysical journeys involve different types of obstacles and movement to newplaces. They provide opportunities for travellers to extend themselves physically, intellectually and emotionally as they respond to challenges and learn more about themselves and the world around them. Physical journeys contribute to the development of maturity and the strength of character,but with any journey it involves challenges and changes. Physical journeys challenge the travellers thinking. In Robert Skrzynecki' poems "Migrant Hostel" and "Crossing the Red sea", Skrzynecki explores the concept of physical journeys by using various poetic devices to look at how these journeys affect people physically, emotionally and intellectually. "The Wind in the Willows" by Kenneth Grahame from the stimulus booklet explores the concept of physical journeys.
