The purpose of this paper is to show what punk rock is, a little
history of punk rock, and what punk rock is not. This paper will go
over the early years of punk, the Sex Pistols, the Ramones, true punk
today, the style, mainstream punk, and the people that are punks.
Finding out where, when, and who started punk is like finding
out how the dinosaurs were killed. ... It was around 1973 in the lower class streets of London where
punk began. Punk rock was created by and for the people that were
on the other side of society, poor, trashy, and the people that had no
future. Many of the songs in early punk were all about anarchy. In fact
punk was also created for those that believed in anarchy.
The Sex Pistols to this day are still the most controversial punk
