Norma Jean's Traits
Many events have taken place at Shiloh, Tennessee, from the Civil War battleground to honeymoons and picnics. In the short story by Bobbie Ann Mason, "Shiloh," the city is the battleground for Leroy and Norma Jean's relationship. The story is about a middle class working couple, with many changes in their marriage. The changes start after Leroy's accident at work. He becomes unable to work anymore and spends most of his time at his house making crafts. During this time Norma Jean expresses her strength, persistence, and sense of reality she possesses.
Norma Jean showed her strength in different ways. Leroy attended physical therapy to rehabilitate his leg. During the sessions, they both lifted weights. Leroy was trying to get back to normal, and Norma Jean was set on getting built...
