Formula 1
People looking at Formula 1 on the television can never get the feeling the race drivergets, when sitting in a Formula 1 car, the engine power is so strong, so it's possible to pass out in the fast curves. A modern Formula One car is capable of developing 3.5 g lateral cornering force, which is three and a half times its own weight, thanks to aerodynamic down force. That means that, theoretically, at high speeds they could drive upside down. So running a Formula 1 car is not for a normal person, it requires skill and very god physical form.
The safety of a Formula 1 car is amazing, and is improving year by year, somerace drivers are complaining about it, because the say the race is getting boring. But most of the drivers of course finds the improved safety good and looking back at the last decade, the lost of human lifers is not high, compared to earlier decades.
Designing a Formula 1 car is a very difficultprocess, it takes a lot of engineers and specialists the major concerns is to create down force, which improves the speed and handling of the car on the racetrack, the wing at the back of the car is an important factor. It was as late as in the sixties the wing became a vital and normal part of the Formula 1 racing car.
When looking at today'sFormula 1 cars it is a technical wonder, and a very expensive one as well...
