The "No Child Left Behind" plan that was implemented by President Bush in 2001, seems like such a good idea until you actually get down to it. I mean what doesn't sound good about it. It starts building language and reading skills at earlier ages. It will measure each student's progress in reading and math in grades 3rd through 8th. It gives parents detailed report cards about their children's progress and problem areas. It gives children the option to transfer to higher-quality schools if their school is performing poorly. It ensures high teacher quality and gives more resources to schools. It also gives lots of funding to achieve these goals (ed.gov).
