For more than 30 years, General Electric Global eXchange Services (GXS) has been pioneering advances in the information management industry. The company traces its beginnings to the 1960s, when, in partnership with Dartmouth College, it developed Basic, the first online, interactive language. In 1965, GE Global eXchange Services (then known as General Electric Information Services) introduced MARK 1, the first commercial, computer-timesharing services. In the 1970s, GE eXchange Service created one of the world's largest data networks with integrated host-processing services. GE Global eXchange Service reduces the instability of operations between trading partners by identifying and eliminating costly defects in their supply chains allow a business to gain access to the data it needs to make informed, timely decisions.
