The Internet has been around for a long time, but in the beginning it was not available to the general public. It actually became available to the general public around 1995, when large industrial Internet networks started to appear. I remember one day, when I was in elementary school, hearing two teachers talking about something called email. They were talking about how through email people would be able to communicate with each other without having to use a phone or write a letter. Many people at this time were unaware of email and the Internet; however, today the Internet has become very popular and even essential for some people.
In the beginning, when it became available for the general public, the Internet was only available through a phone line connection. However, as newer technology became available, more options for Internet connection started to appear. Not to long ago a new option for Internet connection was offered to the public.
