Introduction:
With a fast progressing auto-industry, mecha-tronic driveline systems are the latest emerging trend. In the quest for getting the appropriate amount of torque to appropriate wheels, a fully mechanical system requires intervention from the vehicle operator. On the other hand, a mecha-tronic system may engage and disengage drive axles when it deems necessary.
There are multiple types of mecha-tronic systems for passenger vehicles. The behavour of the vehicle depends on which system is selected. Some common configurations are

- FWD with on demand RWD (e.g. Chrysler Pacifica)
