I fell in love with musical theater at the age of nine. Ever since my first summer at musical theater camp, performing in A Chorus Line, I have been completely infected with the musical theater bug and haven't been able to get enough of it since. Although musical theater began as simply a hobby that I pursued only in the summer time, as the years went by and I began to take dance class and private voice lessons, I realized that I simply had to continue my passion in high school. I auditioned for and was accepted into Los Angeles County High School for the Arts. After being a part of the extremely competitive vocal department for a year, I knew that I needed to be at a school with a stronger musical theater department. After much debate, I decided to switch to Hamilton Music Academy, where the musicals are the focal point of the school. We put on two musicals every year, each of which has the highest production value of any high school in the area, and most likely in the state.
I have had tremendous amounts of experience in all aspects of musical theater. As previously mentioned, I have been a part of the Children's Civic Light Opera (CCLO), a musical theater summer camp for kids ages six to fifteen, for the past eight years. My experience with CCLO has also included participating in the young adult program for older performers, ages sixteen to twenty five...
