Every decision a person makes effects their lives whether it has short-term or long-term. Life is full of decisions and is made up of little occurrences that happen every day. It is this, which makes them all so very important. I picked a small but very significant experience that occurred during my junior year in high school, which brought my self worth to the next level.
I was a journalist for my school newspaper; "The Newtonite" and I never really had a chance to have my work published. Taking journalism my sophomore year helped me to attain the style necessary to write for a respected newspaper. Nobody ever saw me as a studious type, always the jock that did not appear to care very much about his schoolwork. This was a blow to my self-confidence whether I showed it or not. The second semester of sophomore year I completed my journalism class and was beginning to become a real part of the publication process. I worked on the newspaper after school and before school, type setting articles and fetching information from school officials for features in the issue...
