Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin was born in the town of Zelazowa Wola on February 22nd, 1810. His father, Nicholas Chopin, was a teacher from Lombardy who had come to Zelazowa Wola for a teaching post. His mother, Tekla Justyna Krzyzanowska was an average pianist, and it was from her that Chopin would learn how to play the piano.
The manor of Zelazowa Wola was owned by Kacper and Ludwika Skarbek. Even though Justyna Krzyzanowska was related to the Skarbek bloodline, for various (and unknown) reasons, they did not allow her to live in the manor. Instead, the Chopin family was given the left outhouse (out of the two that had been recently built), and it was there that Fryderyk Chopin was born. On April 25th, 1810, Chopin was baptised at the local Roman Catholic parish church nearby the manor.
Due to sudden notice, the Skarbek family left Zelazowa Wola, and in September, 1810, the Chopin family followed suit and moved to Warsaw. Chopin would frequently return to Zelazowa Wola for short vacations. It would be here where he would create some of his most awe-aspiring works...
