All Christian churches believe that abortion is wrong. However, some feel more strongly about it than others. Roman Catholic and Orthodox churches forbid abortion under all circumstances. These churches believe that 'From the time that the ovum is fertilised a new life is begun which is neither that of the father or of the mother. It is the life of a new human being with its own growth. It would never become human if it were not human already.' This means that they believe that life begins at the point of conception whereas other theories state it differently. The lawful status of a zygote is that it isn't a human being. As far as law is concerned, life begins at birth. Therefore is disagrees with the Catholic theory that abortion is murder...
