It was the summer of 1990, when my mother moved my brother and me to Laramie, Wyoming. We had to move there because my mother got a job at the University of Wyoming. I remember how different Laramie was from Merrillville. Laramie was a small town where everyone knew each other. I can remember walking down the street and having strangers welcome my family and me. I had never been in a place like that before. I couldn’t wait to start our new life there. As we came into town, I noticed that there weren’t any malls. There was a mom and pop hardware store and some little thrift stores, but nothing else. Laramie was the home of the University of Wyoming. My mother worked in the museum part of the University.
