The laptop computer was invented by Adam Osborne in 1981, at Osborne Computers. It was called the "Osborne 1", and it cost around one-thousand, seven-hundred and ninety-five dollars, and the laptop weighed 24 pounds. It came with over fifteen thousand dollars worth of programs. The laptop had a tiny computer screen built into the laptop. The laptop was invented by taking regular computer's technology and scaling it down to make a smaller portable computer. Before Adam Osborne made the first laptop, he was a book seller to McGraw-Hill.
