What is Police Administration?
Society has always required a means of structure and function to control society and protect social order. Police have always been designated as crime fighters and ultimately responsible for protecting norms and laws. The nature and risks involved in police work presents challenges and opportunities for the administrative divisions. Administrators must work to keep conflict and confusion at a minimal, and ensure that officers know their roles and tasks and perform them accordingly. Police administration perform a numerous amount of tasks and responsibilities.
They are an essential division who provides support and prevention functions for the police department. Their overall responsibilities are to ensure that the police departments are correctly structured and functioning in order to maintain a safe and orderly environment for its citizens. They provide leadership and direction and maintain the responsibility for the circulation of polices and procedures that govern the operations and personnel activities of the department.
