Marijuana, we’ve all heard of it, but very few of us ever understand it. ... Marijuana is that drug. Marijuana is illegal today because many people fail to understand its usefulness. Marijuana has many advantages to it that makes it useful. Marijuana also isn’t anywhere near as fatal as many drugs that are on the market today, such as alcohol, cigarettes, and nicotine. If marijuana were to be made legal the government could collect taxes on the drug and there would be less people getting locked behind bars which would also reduce the spending on prisoners giving the government more spending money. Throughout this paper I will give you evidence and reasoning supporting my stand for the legalization of marijuana.
Why should marijuana be legalized? ... “In the past year 20 million Americans have used marijuana, and 11 million continue to do so regularly.” - internet Marijuana is one of the most popular recreational drugs, ranking right behind alcohol and tobacco, two substances scientifically regarded as more hazardous.
