Proposition 71 Essay
Stem cell research has received a lot of attention over the past months. With the recent deaths of Ronald Reagan and Christopher Reeve the topic has garnered even more. A stem cell is a type of cell that is found both in humans and animals. Some scientists believe that with more research they will be able to treat Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, heart disease, and spinal cord injuries. Ronald Reagan and Christopher Reeve both had these tribulations. Ronald Reagan suffered from Alzheimer's, and Christopher Reeve was paralyzed. With more money and research these once diseases could come a thing of the past. The way the money will be funded though will put California into even more debt. Proposition 71 should not pass because of corporate welfare and no accountability...
