Letting go of a loved one is never an easy thing to do. For me it was a different story. When my grandpa passed away, I had no problems saying goodbye and was not hurt to see him go. Before making judgments let me explain why I felt this way.
I grew up with a grandpa who was an alcoholic and was married to the wicked witch of the west. My step grandma Maria was never satisfied unless she had everything her way, and my grandpa would make sure that she did. Maria seemed to find pleasure in making my moms life and mine a living hell. Mom and I lived next door to my grandpa and Maria in a duplex, which my grandpa owned. I feel everyone would think that growing up next door to your grandparents would be great, but my grandpa did not seem to care about my mom or I at all.
