E-waste refers to the waste created when electronics are disposed of because they are either outdated or no longer work. Almost all electronic devices contain carcinogens such as copper, and lead. Because of misinformation, the public believes they can just throw their old electronics away. They have filled many landscapes, and polluted our environment beyond repair. North America does not have it as bad compared to Asia. In Asia, there are villages made of our electronic garbage. The people living there disassemble old computers to extract raw materials which can then be resold. Unknowingly, major computer manufacturing companies have done this through middle men. This problem was exposed in 2002, when a report came from Asia showing pictures of these people and their daily work.
The problem is that recycling companies ship all their unwanted electronic waste to Asian countries such as India and China...
