Hungarian students: really well-educated?
1.
Dear Sam,
I'm sorry that I haven't put pen to paper for a long time, but I have been really busy with my studies. We have to memorize so many details that I'm often thinking about their effect. I don't know how it goes in England, but here we have to learn so many unnecessary things that we aren't able to cope with the really difficult situations in our real life. I have read about a man in my language practice book, who thought he would excel in his job, but then it had turned out that he didn't have the skills to prove his knowledge. I think that is the same by us! I mean, we know a lot about kings and wars, and history, but we don't know how to talk clearly, how to write a cv, or just how to prove that we are good enough. I think schools should teach these basic skills too, as they do for example in the USA.
What do you think about it?..
