What is Romantic Love A Naturalistic Observation

Before this observation took place I had not yet chosen the research question, it was easier later, after seeing a couple in "action" to get an idea of what questions might arise. This particular couple seemed to be very in love, or at least in the beginning of their relationship, I later got this confirmed from a friend of mine. The couple I observed had only been together for three weeks. And we all know how the first stage of a relationship can be something very special and intense, so in my first question I will try to find out what constitutes a romantic, newly in love-couple. But as I will go along many other thoughts and questions will arise, especially the laws of attraction, differences and similarities we look for in others.
This couple walked in to a smoking room at a caf here in our town, they choose to sit in the corner, maybe for the privacy. It gave me a good opportunity to sit in the other side of the room pretending to take notes from a fictional book. Since this was morning time they ordered breakfast, and I think one must feel comfortable with one other to eat together, especially if it involves melted cheese. You don't usually eat greasy food together on the first date, but this observation is not very important, but maybe valuable in the sense that the couple did not seem to put a lot of thinking in how to behave. They are in a relative early stage, but they seem already very comfortable with each other, they are talking about the nice taste of the sandwich, which could be a sign of sharing pleasures and passions together...
